Hope all is well on your side of the web!
We finally got our son settled again in Chicago in an apartment with roommates for his year at Columbia College. And yesterday, we were able to ride in and have a great birthday celebration with him before the freezing rain caused havoc on the roads. The semester started today and he was really looking forward to getting into learning. This does a Mama proud!
This year I decided to challenge myself with creating something once a week and sharing them here. I really love creating patterns for scrap booking or as fabric. So, to keep myself focused, instead of just a random craft item, I thought I’d create one pattern a week, share it here on Mondays for us both to use however we want. Obviously, since it’s the last Monday of January, I’ll have a few weeks that I’ll include two patterns.
Pattern #1
I used my favorite two colors, red and blue. This color combination, no matter the hue is killer!
I also designed using the very-popular arrow!
During this process, I’m hoping I can simply use my iPhone to take the pictures, unless of course, I want to get fancy or techie and use the big bad camera. But, I’ll decide in the moment, I’m pretty whimsical like that.
So, I hope you follow along on my little journey to see how many patterns I can design this year. Let me know you are following along in the comments, sometimes I get lonely on my little ole blog and think I’m just talking to myself.

I love that pattern! nice work! I’ll have to check out your designs on Spoonflower
OK. I just have to say, this pattern caught my eye because it did an optical illusion. When I was scrolling down the Freedom Friday link party, this pattern appeared to be zooming in or out. Just scroll up and down and don’t focus on the screen and it does this weird zooming in and out. It’s only the top two that are shot at an angle. I don’t know, maybe it just me.
Love the patterns!
