It’s hot! It’s 90 degrees today! And yes, I’m pretty much a wimp when it comes to heat. Maybe that’s why I live up north. I sure do love what the heat brings… beaches, shells and pretty blue waters and sky.
I’m only 45 minutes from Lake Michigan and it’s a very familiar area to me because it looks like where I spent my favorite summer vacations when I was growing up… Rhode Island!
The beach at Narragansett, Rhode Island
See the stone wall, I’ve walked that path lots of times. This beach is usually filled with sun bathers. Must be winter in the photo. My Nana would always come to the beach when we went to Point Judith. My other great-aunts would stay home and we would come home to a grand dinner of Doma (stuffed cabbage) or spaghetti with homemade meatballs. My mouth is watering right now!
The bridge at Newport, Rhode Island.
My favorite memory of the bridge at Newport is when we were little, my Pepe, would take us for a ride on his boat in this area. When we were big enough each of us got a turn sitting on his lap and driving the boat under the bridge. There are five siblings in my family. That was a lot of back and forth for Meme and Pepe!
Great summer memories in Rhode Island. My youngest brother has taken his family there and they all loved it!
